SACRED HOOP 3 - SOUND MEDITATIONS

WEEK 3 - awakening

WEEK 2 - into the light

WEEK 1 - becoming visible

This weeks Sound Meditation focusses on self worth, of looking deeply at ourselves and seeing ourselves within the constellation of all that is. As we see ourselves so we can allow ourselves to be seen, to become visible in our communities as the potent physical, emotional and spiritual being we are.

SOUND BATH CARE

It important to know that there is no right or wrong way to receive a sound bath. Some of you may find the sound activating, for others it may draw you into deep state of relaxation. The sound will give you what you need with the frequencies working on all the subtle energy bodies. If at any point you feel discomfort the best thing you can do is breathe into that space and allow the tension to release.

BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR MEDITATION

These Sound Immersions will work best if you are listening through headphones or good audio speakers, whatever is comfortable for you. It is important to allow yourself time before and after your meditation. Give yourself 15 mins to prepare your space. Light a candle, find a quiet, calm place where you can focus and feel comforable. Make yourself comfortable, have a blanket, mat, pillow ready so you can fully relax. Have water to hand as the sound can produce powerful clearing, shifting energy and moving toxins. The water allows us to flush through the toxins during and after the process.

After the meditation give yourself time to come round. If you need additional grounding get yourself outside and your feet on the ground. Drink plenty of water, it can take up to three days for the sound the fully integrate.

Observe and honour your body after your experience. The sound can produce strong emotions, as blockages are removed so they must first come to the surface. SIt with what comes, be kind to yourself, allow. Let those you live with know what you are working through so they know what to expect.

DAILY PRACTICE

I would use this treatment every third day or whatever feels comfortable for you. Dawn and dusk are powerful times to meditate, here the veil is thin and our connection to spirit is heightened, but you can connect in whichever way resonates most powerfully for you. Feel into it and see how your body, emotions and spirit respond to the sound. These can be powerful treatments and even 20 minutes of sacred sound is alot for the body to absorb.

SOUND MEDITATIONS THROUGH THE CHAKRAS

WEEK 7 - CROWN CHAKRA - ‘I AM ALL THAT IS’

Bringing our attention to the Crown Chakra, to unity, consciousness, returning to the source of creation, dissolving the layers of this three dimensional body and experiencing our harmonic being, physical, emotional, etheric, spiritual, experienced as past, present and future. Sundara - a beautiful being of light.

As always brothers I would recommend spending some time grounding afterwards. Take your time to ‘come round’ after the immersion, allow ten minutes in silence, it is in the silence that the sound integrates and the healing occurs. Drink plenty of water, stamp your feet, get your bare feet on the ground. It also helps to gently tap all over the body and face. Allow yourself time to be, to hear, to listen, watch as emotions arise and be kind to yourselves.

WEEK 6 - THIRD EYE CHAKRA - ‘I AM VISION’

This weeks meditation focusses on the sixth Chakra, the Third Eye. Ajna in Sanskrit, which means ‘to command’. This chakra is located between the eyebrows in the centre of the forehead. The Bija Mantra sound for this chakra is Ohm, pronounced Aum, and the element associated with this chakra is the Matia Tattva, meaning all elements are present in their most rarified essence.

The third eye sits centrally between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, it is the place where the rational and intuitive minds meet. When we focus on this chakra we seek to bring balance to this area bringing ourselves in tune with our intuitive selves. Here we can develop our intuitive capacity, connecting with our higher self so that we can receive wisdom. As we released the lower physical chakras, opening the heart chakra and throat chakra to locate our voice in a compassionate place, so the third eye brings us into the place of vision, feel. Through this sound meditation we have the opportunity to deepen our intuitive senses and connect to our higher self. This in turn brings us to the place of trust, where we can hear the voice of wisdom, know it’s truth and act on its guidance.

To focus your meditation you might take the tip of your forefinger, dampen it with saliva and gently apply pressure where the third eye is located for a few seconds. This meditation can be quite intense so keep breathing through any discomfort that arises. Breathe, focus on the third eye and allow.

This is a powerful meditation and I would recommend spending some time grounding afterwards.

WEEK 5 - THROAT CHAKRA - ‘I AM’

The Throat Chakra. Vishuddha. Here we focus on our throat area, located centrally at the base of the neck opening out to the throat. Self-expression, higher discrimination, will, finding your voice.

(This is an intense Sound Bath, the gongs would only play loud so remind yourself of the care notes below and my video on the WhatsApp for looking after yourself as you experience this meditation.)

WEEK 4 - HEART CHAKRA - ‘I AM LOVE’

The Heart Chakra. The Anahata. Here we move from our ego consciousness into unity consciousness, seeing ourselves in reference to all things. Here we move into the space of emotion, relationship.

Associated with air, with empathy, with compassion, with self love (not selfish but service to ourselves and honouring), with service, gratitude.

The Heart Chakra expands us out of our physical body and into our emotional being.

How is your heart? Come into your heart. Allow yourself these moments to feel, to welcome the sounds into this place of union. This is where our journey truly starts as we open out into a constellated experience of reality. It is a returning home, a belonging not just to yourself but to others too, to Spirit, to all that is.

Namaste.

(remind yourself of the care notes below and my video on the WhatsApp for looking after yourself as you experience this meditation.)

WEEK 3 - SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA - ‘I AM FIRE’

This weeks sound meditation and immersion focusses on our Solar Plexus Chakra, the Manipura Chakra. The Solar Plexus, located between the belly button and the heart space is connected to our digestion as it covers an area that incorporates the stomach, spleen, liver and pancreas. It is the place where all 72,000 Nadi (subtle energy channels) meet in the body. So it is a place of transmutation, where matter is transformed into energy. It is therefore a powerful energetic location for change and movement.

The element for this chakra is fire, the great transmuter of energy, an activator of change. The Phoenix is often associated with this chakra.

All your survival instincts, self-preservation reside in the lower three chakras. These three chakras – muladhara, swadhishthana, and manipura – constitute the physical dimension of the body in many ways. In the Manipura/Solar Plexus resides the ego, our sense of self, our desire to action in the world. Being the highest of the physical chakras it can also be seen as the link between ego and a sense of self in a wider perspective, between the lower physical chakra’s and the higher chakras associated with the heart and higher consciousness. So this is the space where our ego consciousness can be shifted into the higher realms of unity consciousness .

As we work on the solar plexus we help begin to move our consciousness from the ego to the unity consciousness, removing blockages that see ourselves as separate. It is also common for emotional traumas to be held in this area of the body, which can manifest as physical blockages over time. As we apply sound we allow the locckages to dissipate and the flow of energy to move upwards towards the flowering heart centre, the place of releasing into the heart, into community, into expansion.

It is no co-incidence we find ourselves together working on this chakra at this time. It is such a powerful time to be connecting with this chakra, allowing the sound to absorb deeply into this space and shifting our energy. In these days of profound change sound can become a powerful tool for us to address our sense of ego, self, and our place as part of a constellated whole.

If you want you can connect with this meditation drawing an intention for your transformation, where do you want to be at the end of the next 20 year cycle, what do you want to let go of. The time is now my friends, don’t look back, the river is flowing, let go of the shore and allow all that is coming to pass to fully inhabit our being. Be free of expectation, the sound will work in spite of your mind, so allowing is the key and surrender. After your soundings watch how you respond, how your emotions are and be kind, there are no right answers, just the intention to welcome the change and the healing in. x

WEEK 2 - SACRAL CHAKRA - ‘I AM WATER’

This weeks sound meditation and immersion focusses on our Sacral Chakra, the Svadhistana chakra or Hara. This chakra is located four inches below the belly button, encompassing the hips, the genitals and pelvic region.

The Sacral Chakra is associated with the element of water, as it centres on an area that is made up largely of water, with no bones except the pelvis and the spine, which belong to the earth. The Bija mantra, the seed sound for this chakra is Vang (pronounced VUM), the elemental sound of water. Traditional yogic practices for awakening our essential life force, as part of the wider force of creation that inhabits the universe, seek to arouse the kundalini energy in our root chakra as earth energy. As this energy rises up the spine to the sacral Chakra she is transmuted into water energy.

Water is associated with the moon, the tides, the oceans and therefore the night time where day consciousness gives way to another consciousness. As the moon is reflected light, so this chakra is linked to reflection, intuition and the subconscious, to the feminine virtues within us all. From this place of receptivity to consciousness we can find an expansion of the qualities of presence, self-possession and and objectivity. So the Sacral, when clear of blockages reflects a harmonious relationship between our masculine and feminine energies.

Water cleanses and connects, it is related to our vitality, sexuality and creativity. If we are blocked in this area we may expeience emotions of frustration and anger. As we work through this chakra we may find ourselves releasing these emotions.

As we re-member our indigenous souls so we explore this place of emotions, of powerful sexual energies, of creativity, seeking a harmonious balance of the feminine and masculine. Releasing into our intuitions, our wisdom, our creativity, allowing the flow of vital energy to move through this energetic wheel more clearly.

nb. Please take a look at the care notes below before engaging with this meditation. Sound is such a powerful tool for shifting energy and releasing blocked emotions, it is really important to honour the process with time, love, presence and intention.

WEEK 1 - ROOT CHAKRA - ‘I AM EARTH’

Our first weeks sound meditation and immersion focusses on our Sacral Chakra, the chakra. This sits at the base of the spine, between the anal opening and the genitals. The Muladhara is the interface between raw, primal shakti energy and our physical body.

Focussing on our Muladhara reminds us of our connection with the earth, our potential power and vitality, and the start of the road to enlightenment. During these challenging times staying grounded can be difficult. The root chakra is responsible for your sense of safety. The word Muladhara breaks down into two Sanskrit words: Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.” This is the first of the chakras of matter. Balancing the root chakra creates the solid foundation for opening the chakras above.

As we explore our indigenous soul so we return to this primal place of connection with the earth, focussing our intent on deepening this powerful connection and harnessing this latent energy.

SOUND BATH CARE

These Sound Meditations comprise of two parts. The first half is a Chakra Sounding. You can tone along with me and the shruti box or allow the sound to wash over and through you. The second part is a Sound Bath Immersion using gongs and crystal bowls. During this part you can sit, lie, do whatever is comfortable for you. We finish with a period of Shunyata, silence to allow the sound to process.

It important to know that there is no right or wrong way to receive a sound bath. Some of you may find the sound activating, for others it may draw you into deep state of relaxation. The sound will give you what you need with the frequencies working on all the subtle energy bodies. DAILY PRACTICE

You can use this treatment daily or whatever feels comfortable for you. I would use the first half of the meditation that comprises the toning for the chakra every day, and perhaps do the full immersion every second day, but you may feel the need to go the whole way. Dawn and dusk are powerful times to meditate, here the veil is thin and our connection to spirit is heightened, but you can connect in whichever way resonates most powerfully for you. Feel into it and see how your body, emotions and spirit respond to the sound. These can be powerful treatents and even 20 minutes of sacred sound is alot for the body to absorb.
